Sixth graders at Central tested the strength of their bridges that they built in STEAM class. The strongest bridge held 20 Science textbooks!! I may see some future Civil Engineers!!




Today at Central, our local law enforcement stopped by to help serve school lunch for National School Lunch Week! Thank you officers! Our kids enjoyed seeing you!

Today at Central, we celebrated National School Lunch week with a groovy 70s theme! The kids had a blast with a dance party! Thank you to Amber, Shirley, and Robin to always doing their best for our kids! We appreciate you!




2 new resources are available for students and caregivers for supporting mental health and suicide prevention. 988 is a mental health and suicide prevention crisis line available to everyone. Additionally, “Kansas—A friend AsKs”, is a new app available to all. It is a new tool providing resources for preventing youth suicide. It is now available in both the Apple app store and the Google Play store and is free to download.

Loki Martin is our August & September Lifter of the Month! He's an 8th grader at Columbus Junior / Senior High School and is being recognized for his hard work and continued improvement.

Today, Juniors and Seniors had the privilege of listening to Chief Justice Marla Luckert of the Kansas Supreme Court and Justice Fleming of the 11th Circuit Court.

The golf team played at CountrySide Golf Course yesterday. Varsity and JV competed. The varsity placed 2nd as a team. Mallory Thompson took 1st place and Kenlyn Christiansen took 4th individually. For JV, Emily Buffington placed 1st and Suzan Crowe placed 4th. Congratulations!

The Lady Titan Golf Team traveled to Chanute yesterday to play an 18 hole tournament against the SEK. Reese Grundy placed second overall and Mallory Thompson placed 3rd overall. Good job, ladies!

Today at Central, our school resource officer Anne Sharp and the school counselor Sarah Witt started doing the ALICE and lockdown drill lessons. Your student will come home with a letter with more information about the topic. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school. They were able to see most classes today and will see the rest next week. Your students safety is our top priority.



The ladies placed 2nd at the Galena tournament played at Schifferdecker golf course. Mallory placed 3rd overall and Reese placed 8th overall. Keep up the good work, ladies!

Congratulation to the Lady Titan Volleyball team! They got their first win of the season yesterday to Fort Scott who went on to place 2nd in the tough one-day tournament at Frontenac. The Lady Titans played amazing and never gave up through the six game tournament. They also got a win against Pierce City but fell to Girard, Colgan, and Frontenac.
The Lady Titan Golf team placed 3rd at the Girard tournament on Thursday. Mallory Thompson placed 3rd and Kenlyn Christiansen placed 8th. The varsity girls were Kenlyn Christiansen, Reese Grundy, Mallory Thompson, Anna Head and Paige Patton. They have been in three tournaments so far and placed in all three! Keep up the good work, ladies!
