About Me
by Marta Shanks
My name is Marta Shanks and I live west of town. I have lived in Columbus most of my life. My husband Bob and I have been married 24 years and have two children. My daughter Bobbi Ann is a freshman at K-State and my son Marty is in eighth grade at Central. We raise cattle and custom bail hay.
I teach Reading Recovery to first graders at Park in the morning and teach Title 1 Reading with fourth grade at Central in the afternoon.
We are very involved with 4-H as a family. I have been a club leader and Bob is an instructor for shooting sports and helps with the horse project. Bobbi Ann's passion is livestock and horse judging and Marty is most interested in archery and shotgun. This takes up most of our time but we also have a big extended family that we try to get together with as much as we can.
I love to swim, walk, ride horses, read and scrapbook. Unfortunately it seems there is little time for these things!
