About Me
by Terri Smith
My name is Terri Smith and I live in Galena, Kansas. I have been
working for USD 493 since October 2003. I am currently employed as
one of three Special Education teachers at Central. Prior to
working at Central, I was employed by USD #250 in Pittsburg,
Kansas. I worked at the Kaw Valley attendance center located on the
north side of Pittsburg.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1990, my
Master’s degree in Special Education in 1994, and my Educational
Specialist degree in Higher Education in 1998. All three degrees
were earned at Pittsburg State University.
I am married and have seven children and four foster children. The
first three of my children are biological, one step-son, and three
lovely daughters that I adopted about 4 years ago. Five of my
children are married. Currently, I have only the 17 year old and 10
year old girls living at home along with four foster children
ranging in age from 2 months to 17 years.
I was very excited when I transferred to Central from Pittsburg. I
always loved substituting here and was extremely glad to be here
permanently.
