CLASSROOM NEWS
by Melissa Hill
It's hard to believe only 29 more days of school are left. We have been busy learning how to tell time, counting money, and measuring various objects using the correct tools. Next week we will begin to add and subtract larger numbers.
We have begun our 5th and final reading book of first grade. The stories are longer and of course harder than they have been. Continuing to complete homework is still very important for the students.
PTO treated everyone to the movie Horton Hears a Who. We traveled to the Miami movie theater to watch the movie. In the afternoon we enjoyed pop and popcorn also provided by PTO. A great big THANK YOU to all the parents and PTO members that helped make this possible. Also a big thanks to all of the staff that supervised taking approximately 200 students Preschool-First Grade on this journey. Last, but not least, THANK YOU to the students. They demonstrated awesome behavior and we were all very proud of them.
With only 29 days left, we still have several activities to work into our schedule.
April 17th--Music program
April 25th--No school
May 9th--Track Meet
May 14th--Field Trip
May 20th--Play Day (?)
May 22th--Last day, 1/2 day
