Titans Split with St. Mary's

8th Grade Football
Pittsburg St. Mary's 42 Columbus 8

Last night the 8th grade football team lost to a good St. Mary's football team. The Titans were down 20 - 0 at half and ended up losing the game 42 - 8. The only score of the game for the Titans came in the fourth quarter when Tyler Elmore scored on a 30 yard touchdown run. Trenton martin also ran in the two point conversion to give the Titans 8 points. The game against St. Mary's was for the league title, but the Titans can still place second in the league if they win next week against Girard. The Titan team is now 4 - 2 on the year.

7th Grade Football
Columbus 20 St. Mary's 6

The 7th grade football team played a good game last night in defeating St. Mary's 7th grade 20 - 6. The Titans scored on the opening drive of the game when Andrew Teel scored on an 80 yard touchdown run. The conversion for two points was also good to give Columbus the lead 8 - 0. In the second quarter Anndrew Teel score on a 20 yard run to give the Titans a 14 - 0 lead at half time. In the second half the Titans once again scored when Andrew Teel scored his third touchdown of the night on a 12 yard run to give the Titan team a 2o - 0 lead. Overall the 7th grade played a very good game. The line did a good job blocking and the running backs did a good job running the ball. The defense also played a great game in only giving up one touchdown to St. Mary's. The record of the 7th grade is now 4 - 2, and we have our last game of the season next week against Girard.
