Lady Titans Split with Galena

In volleyball action this week, the Central Titans faced the Galena Bulldogs. In the 7B match the games were split with Galena winning the first game 25-22 and Columbus winning the second 25-16. The lead scorer was Kady Barrett with a total of 16 points in both games combined. In the 7A match, Galena defeated the Titans 18-25 and in a close second game, 24-26. Breana Mogle was the lead scorer with 13 combined points in both games. Kaitlyn Vanatta had a kill in each game with Haley Touchton assisting. In the 8B games, Columbus won the first in a close 25-23 victory and were leading in the second game 24-18 when time was called. Kortni Williams lead with 14 pts and Shelby Judy had 13 pts in both games combined. In the 8A match Columbus won 25-20 in the first game and a decisive 25-12 in the second game. Makenna Billesbach and Taylor Hamilton lead in scoring with each girl scoring 11 points combined in both games. Taylor Hamilton also added 4 kills with 2 assists each by Ashley Newell and Makenna Billesbach. The next, and last, competition of the season will be next Monday, October 15th at Baxter Springs.
