Unbeaten Titans steamroll Labette County

THE MORNING SUN

COLUMBUS — Cody Burton, Corbin Stanley and Bill Green reeled off long touchdown runs as the Columbus High School Titans walloped the Labette County Grizzlies 35-0 in a Southeast Kansas League football game Friday night.

Burton scored on a 47-yard run, Stanley had a 46-yard run and Tyler Fleming scored on a 24-yard pass from Stanley as the unbeaten Titans bolted to a 21-0 lead.

Louis Kellogg's four-yard run, the shortest scoring play by the Titans all night, made it 27-0 and Green darted 82 yards for the final Columbus touchdown before Burton added a two-point conversion run to complete the scoring.

The Titans rolled up 501 yards of offense — 308 on the ground and 193 through the air. Stanley did all of the Titans' passing, completing 16 of 23 attempts. He also added 67 yards on seven rushing attempts. Burton led the ground attack with 87 yards while Green had 82 on his only carry of the night.

"We were pretty efficient tonight," said Columbus coach Sean Price. "We were able to do about whatever we wanted."

Labette County managed 152 total yards — 87 rushing and 65 passing.
