Stanley Guides Titans to 41-7 Triumph

THE MORNING SUN

INDEPENDENCE — Corbin Stanley passed for 234 yards and three touchdowns Friday night as the Columbus High School Titans downed the Independence Bulldogs 41-7 in a Southeast Kansas League football game.

Matt Crain caught two of the TD passes and Justin Pillar hauled in the other as the Titans took care of business early.

Pillar had three catches for 108 yards, Crain had three for 55 yards and Bill Green caught five for 53 yards for the Titans. Stanley was Columbus' leading rusher with 60 ground yards.

Columbus led 34-0 at half-time and 41-0 before the Bulldogs scored late.

"We lost a little focus (in the second half) and I'm not really happy with that," said Columbus coach Sean Price. "I think the humidity and the lack of focus hurt us in the second half. But give Independence credit. They're much improved."
